Public Trust in Government
Our government is at a critical juncture. It faces the need to deliver on momentous promises to the public while also facing threats to democracy, increased partisanship and diminishing public trust. That trust deficit jeopardizes government’s ability to solve national problems and implement once-in-a-generation investments in infrastructure, climate resiliency and equitable economic recovery. We must mend the rift between government and the public, shifting the pervasive negative narrative around federal agencies toward a recognition of the contributions of the 2.1 million civil servants working all across the country on issues that impact all of us.
